Matheus Manente and CarboHydroM - Defender of the Future

about

"Ecco's music has always been quite out of my range. Very atmospheric and ambient. That's why it was very hard to find a song I'd be interested in for arrangement. My sights quickly got set on the Dreamcast game's credits theme, but Matheus had already picked it for himself. I had never heard of him, so it was a nice opportunity to get to know what he had done before. And this guy's music is truly fantastic (anybody unconvinced should listen to his Illusions Dimension album). I told him I knew he would do a great job on the Ecco track and then still offered to contribute guitar parts to it if he was interested. It turned out he was !
Working with Matheus on this track was awesome. We were both super busy the whole year and got back in touch near the end of the year so that we can deliver the song in time. I struggled with hardware issues on my end and recorded all my parts using a tablet instead of my main studio computer. Matheus swiftly integrated everything into his arrangement, and the result is perfect. We told each other that we'd definitely find room for working together again in the future, and perhaps on something less ambient too!"
